  • Eric Moser, автор игры «Community College Hero: Trial by Fire», предлагает любому желающему бесплатный неинтерактивный иллюстрированный рассказ-сиквел «A Very Stoic Christmas».   • Narrows — это новая система с открытым кодом на Node.js и MySQL для порталов коллективных историй. Автор рассказывает историю, читатели голосуют за следующие ходы.

  • 5 июня начинается закрытый альфа-тест игры Sunless Skies, продолжения Sunless Sea. Тест закончится в июле и требует только компьютера с установленным Steam. Запись — через специальную форму, но доступ дадут далеко не всем.
  • «Пепел Богов: Искупление» — это новая визуальная новелла и тактическая пошаговая РПГ c элементами карточной игры, которая собирает средства на Kickstarter. Основа команды разработчиков — из России, сюжет пишет Сергей Малицкий. Игра задумана как первая в трилогии. Доступен онлайн PvP-прототип боевой системы (на английском; можно играть с самим собой). На первой сюжетной ветке обещано 125 "'событий". Выход запланирован на конец этого года.
  • Прямо сейчас заканчивается Kickstarter игры ATOM RPG — постапокалиптической ролевой игры про жестокий и загадочный мир Советских Пустошей. Релиз намечен на февраль 2018 года. Доступна бета-версия.
  • Начался сбор денег на Kickstarter для PROCJAM 2017. Это будет фестиваль процедурной генерации, организаторы которого хотят создать новые арт-паки (под лицензией Creative Commons), написать обучающие материалы по процедурной генерации и выпустить новый номер электронного журнала о процедурной генерации. Каждый, кто вложит 10 фунтов или больше, получит набор, в который входят работы Kate Compton (автор Tracery), Tom Betts (один из авторов игры Sir! You Are Being Hunted), новые выдержки из «Annals of Parrigues» Эмили Шорт и другие эксперименты и неопубликованные проекты.

    Donald shrugs and points behind you. You turn around to find that someone has installed a revolving door. Moments later the most private recesses of your unconscious mind have been invaded. ‘Halt, Peasant!’ says the Captain of the Royal Guard, ‘Only nobles may wear poulaines with toes more than two feet long, by Royal Decree! Take them off right this minute, or face death, by my sword!’ You begin to point out to the Captain that since you are now a disembodied consciousness, you no longer have any shoes, nor any feet for that matter, but are interrupted by the monkey waiter who is carrying an astronomical drinks bill on a silver plate. Apparently the drinks weren’t free after all.

    You hurl yourself through the revolving door, wedging it shut behind you. The monkey waiter and the Captain of the Royal Guard are now permanently trapped in your subconscious, so thankfully you have no conscious memory of them, but for the rest of your life you are troubled by inexplicable dreams about Turkish slippers and unpaid bar tabs.

Напишу немного про Alcyon, он того стоит, КМК.

* Автор собрал довольно большую сумму по меркам текстовой игры на KS, 8000 AUD (больше 6k USD). 5k была основная цель, а на остальные будут наняты писатели из команд Neverwinter Nights/KoTOR/Dragon Age и Fallen London/Sunless Sea.
* Игра использует т.н. Quality-Based Narrative, как в Fallen London, Sunless Sea, Voyageaur.
* На itch.io сейчас доступна бэкерская альфа. Ну или можно заплатить сейчас за альфу/бету.
* Игра делается на сильно кастомизированном Twine.
